Mainframe Programmer - Adelaide - Contract Your new role
We are seeking an experienced Natural/Adabas Developer who can quickly contribute with minimal ramp-up time. This role requires hands-on expertise in legacy mainframe environments and the ability to work independently on existing systems.The ideal candidate has strong practical experience coding in Natural/Adabas and solid exposure to related mainframe technologies, including IDMS/ADSO, COBOL, and IBM Job Control Language (JCL).

What you'll need to succeed
Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support applications in a Natural/Adabas environment
• Perform hands-on coding with minimal supervision or training
• Work with existing legacy systems and ensure system stability and performance
• Support production issues, enhancements, and defect resolution
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders as required
  
  Required Skills & Experience
• Proven hands-on experience developing in Natural/Adabas
• Significant experience with:
• IDMS / ADSO
• COBOL
• IBM Job Control Language (JCL)
• Strong understanding of legacy mainframe environments
• Ability to work independently and become productive quickly
• Experience maintaining or enhancing long-running enterprise applications

Nice to Have

• Experience working in complex or highly regulated enterprise environments
• Exposure to application modernisation or system migration initiatives
