Join our team as a Maintenance Crew Member
Do you enjoy working outdoors, using your practical skills, and contributing to civil maintenance projects that directly benefit the Redlands Coast community? If so, we invite you to apply for the Maintenance Crew Member position at Redland City Council!
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out routine civil maintenance tasks, including minor concrete works, footpath repairs, kerb and channel maintenance, and stormwater upkeep
- Supporting the team with maintenance activities across different teams including road pavements, drainage, signage, fencing, boardwalks, and rapid response
- Completing work safely, efficiently and to a high standard under the direction of the Maintenance Crew Team Leader
- Operating plant, tools and equipment used in civil construction and maintenance
- Using systems to action work orders, record defects and support maintenance programs
- Following all Workplace Health & Safety requirements and reporting hazards or risks promptly.
Skills and experience:
Experience in civil construction, concrete works, drainage, or similar trades highly desirable but not essential
Candidates with transferable skills from labouring, landscaping, parks/gardens, trades assistant roles, or other hands‑on environments are encouraged to apply.
- Practical problem‑solving skills and the ability to work safely in outdoor and fast‑paced environments.
Ability to follow instructions, work both autonomously and as part of a small team.
Good level of physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Eligibility:
Level 4 - Construction
- You'll hold current C Class Drivers Licence.
- You'll have the ability to participate in the after-hours on-call roster, including remote response and site-related operations.

- To be eligible for employment, applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia.
Level 5 - Construction (in addition to the above)
- You'll have a minimum of 3 years' experience in the relevant field.
- You'll hold an MR Licence & plant operator tickets or HR licence.
- You'll hold a Certificate II in Civil Construction or equivalent.
