Weir Minerals are seeking 4 site-based Maintenance Technicians to support the Iron Bridge Magnetite Project, based in our new service centre facility in Port Hedland, Western Australia!

The Maintenance Technicians will be responsible for the refurbishment of our unique Weir High Pressure Grinding Roller (HPGR) This is an exciting opportunity to learn a new skillset and be a part of an international first in the industry.

We encourage applications from local residents who are passionate about making a positive impact in their community, and also welcome interest from candidates based in Perth, with the flexibility of a 2/1 FIFO roster

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

  • Work with the qualified HPGR technicians to establish and implement a sustainable growth of the allocated HPGR business unit.

  • Manage all site installation, repair maintenance and testing as per scopes of work
    Become a committed team member to looking at continuous improvement in our daily activities

  • Exhibit a collaborative approach to ensure that customer needs are prioritised and satisfied to meet set service levels.

  • Contribute to strategic planning of site service and installations.

  • Provide technical advice to the Site Service Supervisor for service and components for contracts.

  • Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills

  • Show flexibility under urgent or breakdown conditions in order to service customer requirements

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering, Fitting, Boiler making  or another relatable trade

  • Advantageous to have experience working with HPGR’s or similar to equipment

  • Dogging and Rigging Tickets with relevant industry experience

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
