Maintenance Technician - Electrical

Role

We have one of Australia’s premium, semi-automated fruit processing facilities suited conveniently in Narre Warren North.

Due to ongoing expansion of our facility, we are seeking a proactive, driven and approachable Maintenance Technician with exceptional time management skills to join our existing team.

Working closely with the Maintenance Manager & wider maintenance team, this role is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, repair and/or replacement of plant and equipment associated with automated fruit handling systems, refrigerated warehousing and general site equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities will include:

• Responding promptly to breakdowns – working to resolve in a timely manner
• Diagnosing mechanical faults
• Supporting Continuous Improvement projects & design enhancements
• New equipment installations, equipment upgrades & modifications
• Assisting in spare part inventory management
• Performing routine inspections & preventative maintenance on plant equipment 
• Accurate & timely completion of JSA / SWMS
• Testing & tagging
• Ensuring strict OHS compliance 

Please note: While an electrical license is required for this position due to the machinery being maintained, the majority of tasks will be general equipment maintenance.

Work hours: 38hrs per week between hours of 6am-6pm Mon-Fri 10am – 6pm Mon - Fri

This role requires someone who can work under pressure, communicates well with a large operational work-force, with a proactive and can do attitude.

Skills & Experience required to be successful in this role:

• A Grade Electrician (preferred) with previous experience as a Plant Maintenance Technician or similar role in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Electrical / Fitter Trade Certificate
• Forklift and elevated Work Platform license (ideal)
• OHS training
• Electrical disconnect / reconnect permit (preferred)
• HACCP training
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Intermediate skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook

Applicants with previous experience in a horticultural and/or FMCG industry will be extremely well regarded.
