Do you have an hour to spare each week and enjoy being outdoors?
We are looking for a caring and reliable volunteer to accompany one of our residents on walks in her wheelchair around the local area.
For this resident, spending time outside is one of life's greatest pleasures. Being outside in the fresh air and sunshine brings her enormous joy and make a significant difference to her wellbeing.
Following a stroke, her communication has become more limited, but she still enjoys company and connection. A friendly smile, shared observations, and simply being present can help build a meaningful relationship.
No experience is necessary. Full training, support, and orientation will be provided.
What you'll do:
Take a resident for regular wheelchair walks in the local community
Provide companionship and social connection
Help bring enjoyment, stimulation, and a sense of freedom to her day
Make a genuine difference
What we're looking for:
A friendly and compassionate person
Someone comfortable engaging with older people
Reliability and a positive attitude
