Looking for a meaningful way to spend your weekend? The HammondCare Volunteer Program offers a special opportunity to bring joy, connection, and companionship to older people in the Hunter community.

Whether you love sports, art, gardening, pets, baking, yoga, music, movies, or simply a good chat over coffee—you can share your passions with someone who’ll truly appreciate them.

As a Weekend Volunteer Social Visitor, you’ll spend time one\-on\-one or in small groups with residents in a care home, offering genuine connection and heartfelt moments that brighten their day—and yours.

Give just a little of your weekend, and make a lasting difference in someone’s life.

*Please note: Volunteer interviews and Orientation must take place on a weekday during business hours.*

Requirements

18 years or older • NDIS Worker Screening Check  and National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare

We're looking for some friendly weekend volunteers to provide one\-hour visits between 9:30am–12:00pm or 1:00–4:00pm on Saturdays or Sundays.

If weekends don’t suit, we’re happy to discuss weekday options too—visits can take place any day between 9:00am and 4:00pm, and can be weekly or fortnightly depending on your availability.
