ABOUT AEMG Academic Division

The Academic Division is responsible for delivery of AEMG academic programs and the oversight and management of educational programs delivered by partner universities. These include Teaching Visit delivery by partners, English language courses delivered as part of degree programs in China, the DEP English language test, Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral Qualifying Programs and academic subjects delivered on behalf of global university partners and International Credit Courses delivered in Chinese Universities.

 

ABOUT the position

The Academic Services Manager is responsible for overseeing various academic support services and initiatives within the Academic Division. The position will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Academic Division through coordinating the provision of academic programs and providing support to key internal and external stakeholders to ensure an integrated, effective, and standardized approach to program delivery.

The Academic Services Manager provides support to the Vice President of the Academic Division, the Executive Dean, Academic and the Registrar and collaborates with the Dean of Education, the Dean of CAL and other stakeholders to develop and implement academic and staffing policies and processes that optimize partner satisfaction and student learning outcomes.

 

The Academic Services Manager works in collaboration with program directors, and under the guidance and direction of the  Executive Dean, Academic in the following areas:

 

Strategic Leadership - Collaborate with academic leaders to develop and implement faculty strategic plans that align with the institution's vision and mission.

Academic Program Management - Oversee the planning, development, and implementation of academic programs; Collaborate with faculty to ensure the curriculum aligns with institutional goals and industry standards.

Faculty and Staff Recruitment Supervision - Coordinate the recruitment, induction, training and supervision of academic division staff and faculty members; Assist with workload planning and support regular performance evaluations for Academic and English language staff.

Budget Management - Support the development and management of the academic division budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and resource allocation.

 

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s or higher qualification in Education Management, Business Administration, or a relevant field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in higher education administration or a similar senior management role.
  • Candidate with more relevant experience may be considered for a higher level position.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the higher education landscape in Australia and internationally
  • Knowledge of academic program development, curriculum design and accreditation processes
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management experience.

The role is primarily based in Melbourne, some national and overseas travel may be required.
