Are you passionate about making a difference in children’s health? We are now recruiting for a full-time, ongoing Manager, Auxiliaries and Fundraising, to take responsibility for leading a team which supports, administers and grows the RCH Auxiliaries and other volunteer fundraisers within our community.

Who we are

Founded in 1989, the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Foundation is the fundraising arm of the Royal Children’s Hospital, one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals. The RCH Foundation has the vital role of raising and distributing donated funds to the hospital, enabling the very best patient and family care and support, and saving and improving the lives of our sickest children. While a legally separate organisation, the RCH Foundation works closely with the RCH in achieving its vision.

The Role

The Manager, Auxiliaries and Fundraising reports to the Director, Fundraising and works closely with the wider fundraising and cross‑departmental teams to lead and develop the Auxiliaries and volunteer fundraising for the Foundation. The Manager will work with both Auxiliaries and the community to identify opportunities for integration and collaboration between key stakeholders, and ensure that all fundraising is undertaken within the guidelines and policies of the RCH Foundation, which mirror those of Consumer Affairs Victoria. This role has oversight of the retail elements of the RCH Foundation/Auxiliaries and Gratitude Hub located on Main Street at The Royal Children’s Hospital.

About You

• You are purpose driven and committed to the mission and values of the RCH Foundation.


• You have 5+ years of proven experience developing fundraising initiatives, programs and strategies, with 2+ years’ experience in a leadership role.


• You are proficient in budgeting, financial forecasting, trend reporting and financial planning.


• You have demonstrated excellence in high level volunteer stakeholder and donor management, with expertise in cultivating a major gift or stewarding a major fundraiser or group that has raised more than $200K, ideally with some gift in wills experience.


• You have exceptional event or project management skills.


• You have excellent verbal communication, public speaking, interpersonal relationship building skills and conflict resolution.


• You have advanced computer literacy, including the Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).


• You are confident in your work, but know when and how to consult others to keep work moving, to achieve the best results and to avoid risk


• You have a commitment to personal development.

Key Selection Criteria

• Demonstrated experience in managing dynamic teams of staff and volunteer leaders.


• Strong experience cultivating major gifts and/or managing large-scale donor campaigns and matching those funds to the strategic priorities of the organisation.


• Experience in leading, administrating and managing committees.


• Demonstrated experience in community building, including building strategies, leading and growing new large groups of volunteers/fundraisers.


• Outstanding skills and experience managing complex stakeholders, bringing deep empathy and patience to managing relationships.


• Strong experience forecasting fundraising income and developing and managing operational and event budgets.


• Experience using CRM systems to manage and grow donors
