Job Description - Manager - CFO Advisory Services

OUR VALUE PROPOSITION

At RSM, our purpose is to instill confidence in a world of change for both our clients and our people.

RSM Australia supports a people-centric and collaborative culture where we are committed to empowering and developing you. As a leading professional services firm, we connect you to an extensive network of global resources and invest in your future. We value the meaningful work that you do and encourage you to be a part of the change.

Our value proposition is our commitment to you; it highlights the experiences, benefits, and value that you can expect as part of RSM. This is underpinned by our three values – integrity in everything that we do, supporting clients everywhere, and developing and valuing everyone.

Who we are:

RSM Australia is a member of RSM, the world’s 6th largest network of audit, tax and consulting firms. We are an award-winning professional services firm with over 100 years experience supporting Australian businesses. We believe in putting people first and we are proud to have developed a work culture that fosters growth, collaboration and success.

About the role:

Our CFO Advisory Services team partners with organisations across diverse industries to transform finance functions, drive operational excellence, and support clients through complex accounting, regulatory, and reporting challenges.

As a Manager in CFO Advisory Services, you’ll step into a leadership role that blends project delivery, people development, client engagement, and business growth. You will work closely with Partners and Directors, leading multidisciplinary teams across finance modernisation, accounting advisory, audit readiness, reporting optimisation, and pre‑ and post‑deal support.

In this hands‑on leadership position, you will manage client projects end‑to‑end, guide team members, and help evolve our advisory offerings in an increasingly technology‑enabled finance landscape. You will take the lead on complex engagements requiring strong technical acumen, structured problem‑solving, and exceptional client relationship skills.

In this role, you will:

  • Plan and deliver projects in conjunction with other engagement team members to deliver in line with client expectations, timelines and budget

  • Develop self and team through coaching and client experiences to help grow the wider groups’ technical and client interaction capabilities

  • Demonstrate strong collaboration and project management capabilities, report writing, technology and client relationship skills in delivering projects

  • Contribute to business development initiatives including development of new offerings, thought leadership and proposals

  • Assist with management and co-ordination of the CFO Advisory Services team including but not limited to resourcing, training, recruitment and development of internal relationships

About you:

You’re an experienced accounting and finance leader who enjoys managing complex projects, coaching teams, and building trusted client relationships. With deep technical knowledge and a strong interest in finance transformation and technology‑enabled solutions, you bring a balanced blend of advisory capability, commercial thinking and collaborative leadership.

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or equivalent

  • CA qualification (or equivalent professional accreditation)

  • 5–7 years’ experience in accounting, finance, professional services, commerce, or a mix of both

  • Experience across finance transformation, reporting tools, financial/management reporting, data extraction, project management or accounting advisory

  • Strong understanding of accounting standards, controls and regulatory requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Collaborative leader with a passion for developing others

  • Self‑motivated, dependable and committed to delivering exceptional client outcomes

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting tools

Desirable:

  • Experience in business development, proposal writing or thought leadership

  • Exposure to finance technologies such as Power BI, Alteryx, AI‑enabled tools, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle or other ERP systems

Life at RSM:

We are trusted advisors to our clients, so it is critical for us to find the right people for the job on offer. Our network of offices across Australia and around the world allow us to offer a personal service to all our clients regardless of where they are!

Working for RSM entitles everyone to a wide range of leading health, wellness financial and lifestyle benefits.
