We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Colac Otway Performing Arts & Cultural Centre (COPACC) team as Manager in a Permanent Full-Time capacity.

Located within two hours south-west of Melbourne, Colac Otway is renowned for its magnificent southern coastline, the Otway rainforests and the northern lakes and offers an attractive lifestyle with diverse employment opportunities. Backed by a thriving economy in primary industries, tourism, commercial and community services this is an exceptional career opportunity.

This position is based in Colac.

As the Manager COPACC you will ensure Council:

  • Contributes to the development of arts and culture within the municipality by responding to the needs of the community and Council in the planning, development and promotion of arts and cultural services.
  • Provides a progressive and exciting Performing Arts Centre which fulfils the cultural and historical aspirations of the region.
  • Offers a leading regional conference and meeting facility, managing the day-to-day operations of the Centre in a way which maximises economic viability and customer benefits in accordance with programming, marketing and promotional strategies.
  • Maintains a positive relationship between Council and the Cinema, Makers Space and the Colac History Centre lessees pursuant to the lease agreements. The Manager COPACC will also identify the need for further agreements and will develop these accordingly.

 Key responsibilities include:

Planning, Programing, Marketing, Promotion and Communication, Management and Leadership and Business Management:

  • Responsible for the preparation, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of COPACC in accordance with relevant plans and strategies and consistent with the Council Plan.
  • Actively participate in appropriate national and state peak body and industry associations to enhance the profile of COPACC, and exploit the benefits these associations can provide.
  • Oversee, evaluate and develop systems and processes to increase efficiency and maximise bookings including but not limited to Booking systems, Box Office performance, COPACC Operations Manual, Asset Management Plan, Building Maintenance Plan.
  • Develop, co-ordinate and implement promotion, marketing and communications strategies in support of all COPACC events and business strategies in partnership with Council’s Communications Unit.
  • Prepare and implement a sponsorship/fundraising strategy.
  • Build a customer focused, high performing team through effective leadership, regular communication and appropriate staff development. 
  • Manage the use and monitoring of the COPACC booking system, ticketing system and any other relevant IT systems. 

About You:

To support your success in this role you will have:

  • Qualifications in Arts, Marketing or Business Management or a similar appropriate qualification.
  • Experience in the management of similar facilities, or extensive related experience in the performing arts and cultural industry sector and/or business sector.
  • Highly developed marketing, relationship building and customer service expertise.
  • Experience in business development and growth including the ability to manage a complex business operation.
  • Highly developed written and oral skills.
  • Success in the preparation and implementation of Business Plans and strategies, including managing resources and budgets.
  • Demonstrated leadership of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Current Drivers Licence.

Salary information: $93,904.20 to $103,858.56 per annum plus superannuation
