About the role

How customers discover and compare energy providers is changing. As Digital Strategy & Performance Manager, you’ll shape how Origin responds, combining proven digital marketing strategies with new opportunities across AI-driven search and emerging media platforms. Reporting to the Head of Media & Partnerships, you’ll lead a team of five to six specialists across paid search, programmatic display, social, SEO and generative engine optimisation (GEO). Building on our successful in-house digital media program, established in 2024, you’ll guide its next phase of growth, strengthening brand visibility, customer engagement and acquisition.You’ll also represent our in-house digital media function across the business, building strong partnerships and translating investment and performance insights into clear commercial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver digital marketing strategy across paid, owned and earned channels to grow brand awareness, quality traffic and customer acquisition.


• Lead, coach and develop a team of digital marketing specialists, encouraging collaboration, accountability and innovation.


• Guide SEO and GEO strategy to strengthen Origin’s visibility across traditional search, AI overviews and conversational platforms.


• Evaluate and trial emerging media platforms and formats, balancing performance and scalability with privacy, brand safety and responsible AI use.


• Partner with content, data, CRM and analytics teams to deliver personalised paid media experiences using first-party data.


• Champion AI tools and workflows that improve team efficiency, insights and speed to market.


• Oversee media technology platforms, integrations and vendor relationships, using reporting and media mix modelling to inform investment.


• Work closely with our media agency and internal stakeholders to connect digital activity with broader brand campaigns.
  
  

About You

You’re a commercially focused digital marketing leader who can set direction, develop people and turn insights into action. You’re comfortable navigating change and competing priorities, and you build strong relationships across teams.

You’ll bring:

• Extensive experience across digital marketing, marketing and advertising technology, analytics and data, including SEO and search marketing.


• Proven success building or growing an in-house digital media function and leading high-performing teams.


• A strong understanding of how AI and generative search are changing customer discovery and media performance.


• Experience using first-party data and content to deliver personalised paid media campaigns.


• Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable business outcomes and return on investment, with strong analytical, reporting and stakeholder management skills.

Experience with Google advertising platforms, social channels, analytics tools or SEO and AI search visibility platforms would be well regarded, as would experience trialling emerging media formats.
