Manager, Organisational Development – NSW Trustee and Guardian

• Ongoing Full time. 35 hours per week.


• Location: Sydney. Flexible and hybrid working options available.


• Clerk Grade: Level 9/10. Base salary $133,348 to $146,945 per annum, plus superannuation, plus leave loading

At NSW Trustee and Guardian our purpose is to support the rights, welfare, and interests of the people of NSW. The agency supports the NSW Trustee, the Public Guardian and the Commissioner of Dormant Funds to carry out their statutory functions. We do this by providing a range of customer-centred services, including Will-making, trustee, financial management and guardianship services, including some for the state’s most vulnerable people.

We support over 50,000 customers annually and manage almost seven billion dollars in customer assets. We are a NSW government agency within the Communities and Justice Portfolio, our services help support and protect people at critical moments in their lives.

The People and Culture Division plays a critical role in enabling organisational performance by supporting the full employee lifecycle and fostering a positive, inclusive and high performing workplace. The division partners closely with leaders and teams to build capability, strengthen culture and ensure people practices are contemporary, compliant, and aligned to organisational priorities.

About the role

The Manager, Learning and Development is an exciting opportunity that will see you support the organisation to achieve its objectives and help deliver major reforms. This role This role provides high quality, expert support and service in relation to organisational development and will lead enterprise-wide initiatives related to leadership, talent and succession, employee engagement and organisational culture. You will apply project and change management approaches to scope, design, execute and evaluate strategic initiatives.  

The role will see you:

• Provide high-level organisational leadership, subject matter expertise and advice to NSWTG on organisational culture, leadership and teams, with the aim of building employee engagement, performance and growth.


• Provide leadership development, coaching, capability building, facilitation and support to individuals, teams and services.


• Manage and analyse business data and information to provide insights and comprehensive reports that contribute to effective decision-making, organisational development solutions and continuous improvements.


• Partner with the wider People and Culture team as well as leaders and people across the organisation to promote and foster a positive, safe and inlcusive workplace culture.

Essential requirements  

• Relevant qualifications in HR, organisational development or organisational psychology, and/or demonstrated practical experience
