The Opportunity
Due to continued growth and expansion within the team, Kelly+Partners is seeking a proactive Manager (Quality and Risk) to play a key role in the firm's future development. This position is responsible for managing the firm's Quality Management System, coordinating internal and external reviews, and overseeing incident and risk management processes.
Position Responsibilities
Lead the design, implementation and monitoring of the firm's Quality Management System in accordance with ASQM 1, ASQM 2 and APES 320
Monitor compliance with professional standards, legal obligations, and firm policies (including APES 110, TPB Code, Corporations Act obligations, and ASIC/ATO requirements)
Coordinate internal quality file reviews and risk audits across service lines (e.g. audit, tax, advisory)
Prepare the firm for external reviews or inspections (e.g. CA ANZ, ASIC, TPB), and oversee remediation actions
Manage the firm's risk register and report key operational, regulatory, legal, and reputational risks to leadership
Lead incident management processes, including breaches, complaints, data incidents, and professional indemnity (PI) claim notifications
Support the Head of Legal with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) obligations
Liaise with firm leadership, practice heads, and service line teams to support risk mitigation and quality enhancement
Monitor staff compliance with independence declarations, CPD obligations, and confidentiality standards
About You
Qualifications and Experience
CA qualified
Minimum 8 years' experience in a professional services, legal or compliance environment
Strong working knowledge of APESB standards, ASQM 1, ethical frameworks and regulatory requirements (CAANZ, ASIC, ATO, TPB) and awareness of international equivalents (e.g. ISQM, IESBA, PCAOB, EU Directive)
Experience managing internal reviews and dealing with regulators, insurance brokers, and legal advisers
Skills and Attributes
Sound judgement, professional scepticism, and high personal integrity
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including policy writing and board-level reporting
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and foster a compliance-aware culture
Strong attention to detail and structured problem-solving ability
Proactive attitude, self-motivated and enthusiastic
Flexible and willingness to undertake a wide variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment
