Job Description - Marketing Coordinator

About ICE

International Cargo Express is a mid-size freight forwarder with over 30 years' experience and four offices in Australia. 

A freight forwarder acts as an intermediary for businesses that need to ship goods internationally. We take care of the whole logistics process involved in importing or exporting goods: we choose the best carrier (shipping line or airline), deal with the paperwork required, organise the customs clearance, and ensure the smooth movement of cargo from the country of origin to the destination, keeping our clients informed all the way. Our clients are importers and exporters based in Australia.

 

The role

This is a generalist, semi-entry-level role, heavily focused on content marketing.

Your team is composed of a Marketing Manager, to whom you will report, and a Branch Manager. 

As part of a small, tight-knit team, this opportunity is ideal for candidates looking to work on a broad range of activities relating to Communications & Digital Marketing, being content marketing the primary focus.

While you'll have the support of the Marketing Manager, this role is highly autonomous, granting you full ownership of the entire process — from idea to execution and tracking the results. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Market research: read industry news, talk to our staff internally and have regular zoom meetings with our overseas partners (agents) to understand what's happening in the market and collect insights.
     
  • Content creation for all our channels 
    • Intranet: company news, documentation updates.
    • Linkedin: create and publish posts, as well as articles under our leadership personal profiles. 
    • Newsletters: create our ICE monthly newsletters for clients and agents.
    • Email Marketing: fortnightly industry updates, campaigns
    • Video Marketing: create videos as needed to support our campaigns and branding efforts.
       
  • Blog Management (WordPress) - ensure our existing blogs are up to date, come up with new topics and brief our SEO agency and freelance copywriter (if you don't write yourself).
     
  • CRM Management (Hubspot) and Sales Support - maintain our database and support the Sales department with lead generation. We integrate some sales systems with our marketing CRM, a process which you will be responsible for.
     
  • Support in all campaigns as required - Sales/Promotional, Seasonal industry campaigns, Internal campaigns. You will create, implement and track campaigns, end to end.
     
  • Support in event management - during any sponsorships or events we are hosting/participating in (this is ah-hoc). You may be required to create promotional materials, create an online campaign to promote the event and support the Marketing Manager in the event organisation. 
     
  • Manage merchandising - order uniforms and new merch materials for ICE.
     
  • Support in SEO - Work with our SEO agency to analyse their monthly reports and action as per their recommendation. Basic understanding of SEO is required.
     

The ideal candidate

  • We are looking for a proactive individual with a can-do attitude and positive energy. Example: when asked to do something beyond your comfort zone, instead of saying I don't know how to do this, you would say: I am not sure but I will try to figure it out and give it a go. 
  • You are eager to learn - must be comfortable with learning about a whole new industry.
  • You are confident in your work and not afraid of bringing new ideas to the table - and then executing them. 
  • You are an autonomous professional, who also works well in a team.
  • Disciplined, responsible and have a good work ethic. 
  • You are kind and considerate of others.

 

Desired Skills and Experience 

  • Higher Education in Marketing, PR or Communications
  • Fluent or Native English with excellent copywriting skills. You will be required to proofread and write content all the time.
  • A keen eye for design - Canva is acceptable, but Adobe Suite is a plus.
  • Experience in some professional video editing tool. 
  • Basic understanding of Google Analytics and SEO.
  • Tech and marketing trends savviness.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Sharp, switched on. You understand the strategy behind your work and are attentive to marketing opportunities.
  • Good research skills. You will be required to do regular research and stay up to date with industry news in order to create company content on your own.

Working Arrangements  

Work-from-home 3 days a week is available after the first month in the office. 

You will be required to come into the office twice a week (likely Tuesdays or Wednesdays) with everyone else.

The office is located in Eagle Farm, Brisbane. 

Probation period of 6 months.
