Job Description - Marketing Technology Manager

The Role


As the Marketing Technology Manager, you will scale and optimise Afterpay's martech ecosystem, ensuring seamless workflows, technology integration, and data-driven insights. Reporting to the Global Marketing Technology Lead, you will manage day-to-day vendor relationships, drive martech adoption, and foster a culture of innovation to enhance marketing capabilities.


You will partner with Engineering, Data, and Marketing to refine workflows, streamline integrations, and automate processes, enabling scalable, self-service solutions that drive marketing efficiency.


We're looking for a technology futurist and problem-solver—someone who anticipates industry shifts and translates complex challenges into actionable solutions. This role requires strong project management, hands-on martech expertise, and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced, global environment.


You Will



  • Foster an innovation-first mindset by encouraging experimentation and promoting forward-thinking approaches to maintain a competitive edge in marketing technology.

  • Manage daily interactions with vendors to ensure optimal performance and value from marketing technology partnerships.

  • Partner cross-functionally to enhance measurement capabilities, ensuring accurate assessment of marketing effectiveness and return on investment.

  • Partner with Engineering and Data Science to optimise data ingestion and enhance audience activation, journeys, and personalisation through CDP expansion.

  • Support strategic alignment of objectives and key initiatives across teams and business units, ensuring prioritisation of effort for maximum impact.

  • Enable the adoption of marketing technologies across teams by providing training and information sessions, ensuring all marketers can effectively leverage available tools.

  • Additionally, this role will support their lead in the below responsibilities.

    • Assist in aligning and expanding vendor use across Block, collaborating with procurement on contract negotiations and agreements.

    • Support the execution of the marketing technology roadmap by coordinating cross-functional efforts and ensuring alignment with business priorities.




You Have



  • 5+ years of experience in marketing technology, CRM, ad tech, or marketing operations within a fast-paced environment.

  • Deep expertise in martech ecosystems, including CRM platforms, CDPs, analytics, automation, and personalization tools, with the ability to drive cross-functional adoption.

  • Strong experience in vendor management, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across global teams.

  • Proven ability to drive innovation, fostering a test-and-learn culture to continuously improve martech adoption and marketing effectiveness.

  • Excellent project management and execution skills, ensuring timely delivery of initiatives.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, translating technical marketing concepts into actionable plans for cross-functional teams.

  • Experience working in a matrixed environment, coordinating across teams in different regions.

  • A problem-solver who thrives in a fast-moving, high-growth environment with a keen eye for process improvement and automation.
