Mary Mary - Bartender

In partnership with one of the most admired and creative teams in the cocktail and spirits community, Mary Mary at The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart takes the namesake of Australia’s first private Hospital, St Mary and amplifies it to create a memorable drinking den, cocktail bar and spirits library. It is a convivial, energetic and sophisticated space with a modern approach to cocktail mixology, service, food and the appreciation of fine beverages. 

The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and service-driven Bartender to join our award-winning Food & Beverage team.

Working within our bespoke cocktail bar, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional guest experiences through refined service, beverage knowledge, and genuine hospitality. You will be responsible for creating memorable moments for our guests while maintaining the high standards that define Mary Mary and The Tasman.

With a positive attitude, attention to detail, and passion for hospitality, you will contribute to the success of one of Hobart’s most celebrated bar destinations.

Key Accountabilities

• Deliver exceptional guest service in a warm, professional, and engaging manner.


• Prepare and serve cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with venue standards.


• Develop a strong understanding of the Mary Mary beverage program and menu offerings.


• Anticipate guest needs and provide personalised recommendations and service.


• Ensure beverages are presented consistently and to the highest standard.


• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and presentation of all bar and service areas.


• Assist with restocking, stock rotation, and maintaining par levels throughout service.


• Adhere to Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) requirements and venue policies.


• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.


• Handle guest enquiries and feedback professionally, escalating concerns when required.


• Support the team in achieving service excellence and departmental objectives.


• Uphold Marriott International and venue brand standards in all guest interactions.

Profile

• Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment preferred.


• Passion for cocktails, spirits, wine, and delivering memorable guest experiences.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


• A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills.


• Excellent attention to detail and presentation standards.


• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.


• Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification.


• Availability to work till late evenings, weekends, and public holidays.


• A genuine passion for hospitality and luxury service.
