Leading societies to a low carbon future, Alstom develops and markets mobility solutions that provide the sustainable foundations for the future of transportation. Our product portfolio ranges from high-speed trains, metros, monorail, and trams to integrated systems, customised services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility solutions. Joining us means joining a caring, responsible, and innovative company where more than 70,000 people lead the way to greener and smarter mobility, worldwide

We have  an exciting opportunity  available for a Material Planner  to join our team responsible for the delivery of the High Capacity Signalling (HCS) project in Perth, Western Australia.  You will play a key role in helping keep Perths rail network safe and reliable!

Alstom are seeking a detail-oriented Material Planner to join our Supply Chain team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring material availability, supplier performance, and production continuity by driving effective planning and supplier coordination. This is a fast-paced position suited to someone who thrives on data, supplier engagement, and problem-solving within a complex operational environment.

We'll look to you for:

  • Manage end-to-end material planning processes, including purchase requisitions, planning documentation, and ERP data accuracy

  • Coordinate with suppliers to communicate requirements, track confirmations, and maintain delivery schedules

  • Proactively identify and mitigate supply risks (shortages, delays, backlogs) through MRP analysis and recovery planning

  • Monitor supplier performance, track KPIs, and drive improvement initiatives with internal and external stakeholders

  • Resolve supply and receiving issues (missing parts, damages, discrepancies) while ensuring compliance with company standards and processes.

All about you:

  • The ability to thrive within a face-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills.

  • Effective problem solving skills with the ability to anticipate issues and implement quick solutions.

  • IT savvy with experience using SAP or similar ERP.

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, managing parts/components.

  • A sound understanding of supply chain, warehousing and materials management.

We value passion and attitude over experience. That's why we don't expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we've listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

Things you'll enjoy:

Join us on a life-long transformative journey - the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You'll also enjoy;

  • 18 weeks paid parental leave

  • Free gym membership

  • Purchase annual leave and be eligible for Bridging Leave (extra leave days each year)

  • Novated leasing schemes

  • Have free access to Alstom University (1000's of courses and learning material)

  • Stability, challenges and a long-term career enabling you to steer your progression in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from a competitive package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and social coverage (life, salary continuance, medical, superannuation).

You don't need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you'll be proud. If you're up for the challenge, we'd love to hear from you!
