Business Development Manager – Healthcare & Commercial Services
Are you a driven sales professional who thrives on building relationships, winning new business, and making a real impact?
Med-X is seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager to drive growth across an assigned territory, identifying new opportunities and developing long-term customer partnerships across healthcare, aged care, medical, and commercial sectors.
As the face of the brand within your region, you’ll play a critical role in expanding our market presence, generating revenue growth, and delivering tailored service solutions that customers can trust. This is a dynamic field-based role suited to someone who enjoys autonomy, relationship-building, and achieving results in a fast-paced environment.
What you’ll do
• Identify, research, and secure new business opportunities across medical and commercial sectors
• Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with state and national growth objectives
• Conduct market and competitor analysis to support territory expansion and sales activity
• Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities, converting leads into long-term customers
• Promote Med-X services including clinical waste, hygiene, sharps, and ancillary solutions
• Lead customer meetings, presentations, proposals, and tender discussions
• Represent the business at networking events, conferences, and industry functions
• Work closely with Operations, Compliance, Customer Service, Finance, and Field Services teams to ensure successful onboarding and service delivery
• Maintain accurate CRM records, reporting, contracts, and customer documentation
• Identify customer needs and develop customised, commercially effective solutions
• Contribute market insights and customer feedback to support continuous improvement and innovation
• Ensure all customer interactions reflect professionalism, integrity, and service excellence
What we’re looking for
• 3–5 years’ experience in business development or field-based sales
• Proven success achieving sales targets and winning new business opportunities
• Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills
• Commercially minded with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
• Highly organised with strong time management and administrative capability
• Experience managing CRM systems and sales pipelines
• Self-motivated, resilient, and driven to achieve results
• Collaborative and able to work effectively across multiple teams and departments
• Professional presentation and the ability to represent the brand confidently in the market
• Experience within waste management, medical waste, healthcare, or related industries - an advantage but not essential
• Exposure to tenders, proposals, and contract management processes (desirable)
