Job Description - Mechanical Asset Management Specialist

THE OPPORTUNITY: 

Reporting to the Operational Readiness Maintenance Lead, the Mechanical Asset Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring a robust asset management program is developed. To ensure that Pilbara Minerals equipment functions safely and productively, within budget and available resources, with the objective of meeting business unit goals.

This is a 12-month maximum term position working on a Monday to Friday basis at our West Perth office, with bi-monthly travel to our Pilgangoora Operation in the Pilbara region.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Recommend and contribute findings from equipment Criticality Ranking reviews.
  • Recommend and contribute findings from Failure Modes and Effects Consequence Analysis reviews.
  • Review and approve preventative maintenance routines based on Criticality Ranking, FMECA and manufacturers recommendations.
  • Review and approve 2-year operational spares requirements and stock holding for various equipment based on Criticality and FMECA.
  • Lead the development of maintenance contract services scope of work and repair standards.
  • Validate and expedite vendor equipment data.
  • Ensure tag numbers are accurately displayed on all documents, drawings, equipment lists.
  • Attend progress and interface meetings as required.
  • Validate equipment lists and instrument registers against P&ID’s
  • Provide input for KPI tracking for Operations Readiness
  • Ensure that any requested plant change is authorized and completed through the PLS Plant Change Request Process.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Fixed Plant mechanical experience in a mining processing plant environment (minimum expectation of 5 years).
  • Good understanding of preventative and corrective maintenance concepts and repair procedures.
  • Experience with the use of flow diagrams, P&ID, general arrangements, manuals, sketches, charts, etc.
  • Ability to search and interpret drawings, documents, and data to complete core duties.
  • FMECA, Criticality, RCM or Root Cause Analysis experience.
  • Experience with, or knowledge of, operations readiness practices.
  • Systematic planning skills.
  • MS Office suite and Pronto experience
  • WA C class driver’s licence.
