Hushpak is a specialist in the design and manufacture of noise control solutions and is a subsidiary of WesTrac, one of the largest authorised Caterpillar equipment dealers in the world. This connection provides a pipeline of projects in a business that is experiencing solid growth. 

To support our expanding operation, we are now seeking an experienced Mechanical Design and Project Engineer with strong technical design skills and practical experience to join our team. You will be working with experienced mechanical designers on new machine and equipment projects.

The Role:

The role will involve the following activities:

• Mechanical design using Autodesk Inventor 
• Investigations and measurements on surface mine and industrial sites
• Advising and mentoring other design team members 
• Cost estimating and proposal preparation
• Preparing technical reports 
• Providing technical assistance to customers and workshop personnel

Key Requirements:

To be successful, you will possess the following: 

• A Mechanical Engineering degree or Associate Diploma
• A passion for mechanical design and solving technical problems
• At least 3 years solid modelling experience – Autodesk Inventor preferred
• Ability to move around industrial or surface mine sites and access large equipment
• Ability to conduct site investigations and measurements
• Skilled in technical report writing 
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong safety awareness
• A current driver's licence

Other attributes that would be highly regarded:

• Knowledge of machine acoustics and noise control
• Experience with large diesel-powered machines
