Well established Australian company that has serviced the Australian and international mining and support industry for over 30 years. They are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their South Brisbane team focussing on mechanical and control systems, engineering of heavy mining equipment.


Your new role


Working with a highly skilled team of engineers, development and improving products, production processes, and equipment that is manufactured in house

• Design, develop, and enhance heavy mechanical systems to meet demanding applications.
• Working within a close-knit project team.
• Conduct research, validate and document findings.
• Identify areas of potential improvement in the manufacturing process and make recommendations.
• Understanding client briefs and developing robust solutions.
• Assist with material and equipment procurement whilst ensuring compliance
• Ensure safe planning and completion of all activities.
• Develop preventative and predictive maintenance plans for all machines.
• Conduct diagnostics to identify the root cause of mechanical failures.
• Process and review sample data, and discuss action plans with Supervisors
• Review and forecast component life

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering
  
  
• Must have 10+ years 3D modelling experience using Solidworks and data management systems (PDM) / CAD 2D drafting
  
  
• 5+ years of heavy mechanical design experience, referencing relevant Australian Standards
  
  
• Proficient in the application interpretation, and validation of FEA output.
  
  
• Technically literate with a high-level understanding of manufacturing processes
  
  
• Extensive knowledge of hydraulic systems, components, and circuit design
  
  
• Strong mathematical, analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills
  
  
• Ability to lead project design teams
  
  
• High level of attention to detail
  
  
• Experience with ELV control systems
  
  
• Self-motivated and open to continuous learning and improvement
  
  
• Excellent customer service
