We are now actively seeking to appoint a dynamic experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. 

About your new exciting role with us: 

• Prepare precise and compliant tender submissions, ensuring our proposals stand out in the competitive landscape.
• Assist in negotiating new contracts and lead procurement negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers, fostering collaborative and mutually beneficial agreements
• Assist in the estimating process
• Oversee SOP's and methods for estimating deliverables
• Produce cost estimates for projects/orders
• Price and submit variations works, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to evolving project needs.
• Work with diverse stakeholders
• Attend weekly operational and production meetings providing input 
• Read and interpret engineering/architectural drawings, sketches and work specifications
• Measure and mark sheetmetal according to drawings and templates
• Plan, conceptualise and create mechanical designs for new products
• Develop sheetmetal components from prototyping to production
• Conduct regular Research & Development assignments
• Develop patterns for sheetmetal, using computer assisted design and drafting (CAD) software package
• Program Laser, Brake Press and Turret Machines to cut and fold sheetmetal
• Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to specifications
• Perform engineering calculations to support design work

About you: 

• A dynamic people person who enjoys the challenges of manufacturing 
• Capable of navigating the manufacturing estimating environment
• Some experience within Sheetmetal desirable  
• Bachelors (or higher) qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• Technical aptitude 
• Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and computer skills 
• Strong passion for the Sheetmetal industry
