About the position
As a member of the Control Systems group, the Controls Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, operation and maintenance of specialised Controls applications for our facility, with a strong focus on projects for the streamlined operation of experiments and the support of our users throughout the lifecycle of their experiment. The position will also require the continual development of skills in specialist areas of expertise.
BRIGHT is the exciting new ANSTO program that will design, install and commission 8 new beamlines at the Australian Synchrotron over the next 6 years. The BRIGHT Program's objective is to deliver to ANSTO, new world-class research infrastructure.
We are currently seeking a number of new Controls Engineers to become part of the Control Systems team. You will be expected to work collaboratively with the engineering and science groups, supporting the development of control systems required for the accelerator and beamlines.
Duties and responsibilities
In this exciting role you will work closely with other controls engineers and includes design, development, documentation, commissioning and acceptance testing of all aspects of the controls systems with a particular emphasis on improving the existing control systems used at the facility.
