Mechanical Fitter

As our continued growth opens up new possibilities we are seeking multiple Mechanical Fitters to join a leading engineering and mining services provider dedicated to supporting various shutdowns and ongoing maintenance throughout South Australia. 

As a Mechanical Fitter with Mergent, you will play a crucial role in the maintenance, fabrication, and repair of various heavy industrial equipment. From conveyor systems, pumps, furnaces and plant machinery, you will be at the forefront of ensuring our operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities :

• Conducting maintenance, repairs, and installations of conveyor systems.
• Overhauling and maintaining pumps to ensure efficiency.
• Fabrication and welding tasks as needed for equipment modifications.
• Participating in shutdowns and planned maintenance activities.
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with furnaces and plant equipment.
• Adhering to safety protocols and ensuring a safe working environment.

Requirements :

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in heavy industrial settings.
• Proficiency in working with conveyors, pumps, fabrication, maintenance, shutdowns, furnaces, and plant equipment.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
• Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter (or equivalent).
• Confined Spaces ticket.
• High Risk Work Licence (WP)

Additional Requirements :

• Willingness to travel remotely within South Australia and nationally as required.
