Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Isolation Coordinator

Dual role position - Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Isolation Coordinator 

Mechanical Fitter pay rate: $43 - $45 per hour 
Mechanical Isolation Coordinator pay rate: $60 - $70
Location: Henderson / Fremantle and Rockingham 
Shift: Monday to Thursday - Friday is classed as overtime with penalty rates ( 38 hour work week ) 

We are recruiting for our client based in Henderson -  In this role, you'll learn about ship systems like Ballast, Fuel, Air, Oil, and power plants, and how to manage and isolate them. The team collaborates with Prime Contractors, Navy Engineers, and Contractors to ensure safe maintenance.

Job duties:

• Ensure your own safety and the safety of others at all times.
• Confirm mechanical isolation requirements with the system/equipment owner.
• Understand and use testing procedures and equipment competently.
• Assess and approve activities involving hazardous energy and issue work permits.
• Verify all Isolations are complete on-site.
• Review and adjust isolation plans to ensure safety and integrity.
• Manage danger tagging systems according to Client policies.
• Inspect systems post de-isolation to ensure proper configuration.
• Conduct equipment and marine system inspections

Qualifications:

• Certificate lll in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Essential)
• White Card (Essential)
• C Class Licence (Essential)
• Work in accordance with an issued permit (desirable)
• Conduct hazard analysis (desirable)
• Gas Test Atmosphere (desirable)
• Confined Space (desirable)
• Working safely at heights (desirable)

Skills:

• 4 years experience in a Marine Trade
• Experience as a Marine Technician in the Royal Australian Navy is highly valued.
