The purpose of the position is to monitor and perform all plant operational and mechanical maintenance tasks, ensuring the plant operates within specified safety, environmental, financial, and performance parameters. This must be done in accordance with both customer and Company expectations.
What You'll Do
At Karara, Bis operates a state-of-the-art Tailings Storage Facility featuring a mobile, extendable conveyor system that significantly reduces costs and environmental impact. You'll join a dedicated team of approximately 40 personnel, made up of leadership, operators & tradespersons.
This position will work within the site operational team and report directly to the Fixed Plant Maintenance Lead.
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of our plant facilities. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintenance Coordination: Communicate with Fixed Plant Maintenance Lead to ensure maintenance schedules are carried out according to work order requirements.
- Task Execution: Perform tasks assigned by the shift Fixed Plant Maintenance Lead within the scope of your training, Verification of Competency (VOC), and abilities.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safe work practices and provide necessary documentation to meet Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, Mine Safety Inspection Act (MSIA) regulations, and client contract requirements.
- Plant Inspection: Inspect both fixed and mobile plants to identify defects as per set inspection schedules.
- Issue Reporting: Report any issues related to plant maintenance and operation to the Fixed Plant Maintenane Lead.
- Equipment Checks: Conduct pre-start checks on all equipment before use.
- Radio Communication: Use two-way radios professionally, adhering to Karara radio protocols.
- Procedure Compliance: Follow and implement Integrated Management System
- procedures and work instructions.
- Record Keeping: Complete and submit all required records and paperwork to the site management team promptly.
Requirements
- Must have a Trade Qualification in Fixed Plant
- Must hold current valid Driver’s License
- Compulsory to hold EWP, Confined Space, Working at Heights and White Card qualification
- First Aid Certificate desirable
- FLS Stockpile conveyor system operation desirable however not essential
