Mechanical Site Engineer

The Opportunity
Downer's Energy & Utilities we are seeking a Mechanical Site Engineer to join our Logan Water project team, supporting the delivery of a major greenfield Chambers Flat Wastewater Treatment Plant project located at Chambers Flat, QLD. This is a permanent full time opportunity working Monday to Friday.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will provide technical expertise, guidance and advice across all phases of project delivery. Working closely with Project Engineers, Supervisors and subcontractors, you will play a key role in ensuring mechanical installations are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the delivery of mechanical construction works on a major water infrastructure project
• Assisting with subcontractor onboarding, coordination and performance management
• Monitoring quality, inspections and compliance with project specifications
• Supporting procurement activities and subcontract administration
• Assisting with cost control, forecasting and project reporting
• Building positive relationships with project stakeholders, alliance partners and suppliers

What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Engineering qualification
• Previous project engineering experience, ideally within the water, utilities, infrastructure or construction sectors
• Experience managing and coordinating subcontractors
• Knowledge of budgeting, cost control and project reporting processes
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Excellent organisational and time management capabilities
• Sound computer literacy and confidence working with project systems

You will also demonstrate strong accountability a collaborative leadership style and a commitment to safety quality and customer outcomes.
