About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Composite Technician to join our Maintenance team based at Australind, just north of Bunbury in the idyllic South West of WA. This position is offered on a permanent full time basis, working 38hours per week compressed into a 9 day fortnight.
The Composite Technician is responsible for providing specialist expertise in plastic welding and fibreglass, as well as providing trade support for the maintenance, service and repair of fixed plant and equipment across the TiO2 refinery. Key requirements of the role include fabrication, modification and repair of FRP piping and vessels in accordance with site standards, utilising a range of layup techniques and resin types suited to process conditions.
The successful candidate will be accountable for measuring, fabrication and installation of plastic process pipework such as PVC, Polypropylene, and ABS, as well as the fabrication of sheet components using FRP and other plastics. This role requires strict adherence to site piping specifications and construction procedures, along with an active involvement in daily, weekly and shutdown maintenance tasks.
