Mechatronics / Software Engineer - Start Immediately

We are looking for an creative mechatronics or software engineer.. 

The Company

Smartline Medical is a medical equipment manufacturing SME based on the Sunshine Coast in QLD. Smartline focuses into the sterile core of hospitals including CSSD and Endoscopy equipment with products being exported to 20 countries around the world. Our products are high quality and all made in QLD. The company is certified to ISO9001 for its Quality Management System and is progressive for a company of its size (20 staff). 

The Position

The position will be working in all areas of Production and R&D to a high standard, liaising across production and engineering departments. You will report directly to the R&D Director and be required to undertake the following tasks amongst others:

• Managing and updating our current software for our products
• Communicating with distributors on servicing our product globally
• Implementing new software for our products
• Design and implement sleek front-end GUI’s for our product
• Robust back-end coding to run and monitor various electronic components
• Contributing to an R&D team to work through ideation of new products 
• QA testing of products prior to shipment 

Our Ideal Candidate

• Software Development Experience 3+ years
• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Software, Mechatronics, etc.)
• Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy within the R&D team
• Problem Solving skills to troubleshoot and debug software issues
• Experience with using MRP/ERP systems (preferred)
• Confident MS Office user skills
• Basic Database/SQL Experience (preferred)
• Experienced coding proficiency (preferably python)
• Experience in both front end and back end development
• Experience working with Raspberry Pi’s (preferred)
• Design of electronic components (preferred but not essential)
• Experience working on a hands-on released product - servicing and troubleshooting (preferred but not essential)
