Somnocare is a sleep and respiratory medical specialist clinic that aims to integrate medical and lifestyle services to not only diagnose, treat and manage underlying sleep disorders and respiratory disease, but to educate and empower patients with the tools needed to make long-term changes to improve their health and general wellbeing. We aim to bring back old-fashion patient care and combine this with the latest in sleep research and technology to improve patient outcomes.

The Position:

We are seeking a dynamic, forward thinking medical receptionist employed under a casual contract for 3-days per week.

Your duties:

  • Following administrative policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Day to day running of the clinic and assisting with the ongoing improvement and streamlining of practice management systems.
  • Upholding a paperless organisation.
  • Meet and greet patients upon attending their appointments.
  • Answer and respond to phone calls, emails, and web enquiries.
  • Schedule and manage patient bookings.
  • Ongoing ordering and purchasing of office supplies.
  • Liaise with other GP practices and specialist groups to improve/streamline referral pathways and communication systems.
  • Day to day accounts – EFTPOS, HICAPS, ECLIPSE, end of day reconciliation, Medicare.
  • Sending out patient records/letters to referring doctors and interested parties.

Minimum requirements/What you will possess:

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use initiative and multitask.
  • Team orientated.
  • Willingness to learn, challenge yourself and think outside the box.

  • Ability to overcome and create solutions to problems.
  • Honesty.

Desirable:

  • 2+ years’ experience working as a medical receptionist/secretary.
  • Experience working with “Clinic to Cloud” EMR software.
  • Strong IT experience.
  • Knowledge of the Medical Benefits Scheme and General Practice Registrar.
  • Knowledge of private health fund billing processes.
  • Experience working with secure messaging services (Argus/Healthlink).
  • Flexibility to cover sick/annual leave when required.
