THE ROLE

Based at our HQ in Tingalpa, we are looking for for a Mid Level Menswear Designer to join our brand, reporting to our Head of Design & Owners. You will play a key role in researching trends, creating mood boards, curating cohesive collections, and designing commercially strong products from conception through development.

Working as part of the Design team, the Menswear Designer plays a pivotal role in contributing to the creative and strategic development of the brand's product offerings. The purpose of this role is to own the Menswear division to bring the brand's aesthetic to life through innovative and trend-driven designs, ensuring alignment with brand objectives and market demands. By collaborating closely with the head designer and business owners, the Menswear Designer will be instrumental in the end-to-end design process.


TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain a constant pulse on the market landscape including consumer needs, competition, trends, and brand position with a focus on the Australian market.
• Possesses good business acumen by having a working knowledge of how the larger business operates, which includes frequent interactions with various departments within the organisation.
• Demonstrate a strong ability to identify sales opportunities through trends, colours, market research, and customer insights.
• Ability to translate market and trends in a commercially viable way, and articulate opportunities to buying teams.
• Initiate, plan, and oversee all aspects of the garment making process from design hand-off to the product development team
• Present trend presentations in partnership to senior management team
• Create CADS and/or flats of silhouettes and prints to pass off to suppliers for development

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

• Tertiary qualification in Clothing Design or relevant experience.
• Strong technical confidence, with the ability to communicate articulately and effectively.
• Minimum 2-3 years design in a mid-level role (Open to more experienced candidates)
• The ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility whilst being able to work independently.
• A strong foundation in all Adobe CS suites.
• Detail oriented, organised, have the ability to set standards and execute, as well as having a strong sense of priority and follow through skills, ensuring that deadlines are met.
