We're looking for a Consultant Microsoft Security Engineer to join our Managed Detection and Response (MDR) team.

This is an entry-level role suited to someone with a background in engineering or computer science who is interested in building a career in cyber security. You'll support the day-to-day operation of our Microsoft security platforms, handle BAU service tickets, and work closely with senior engineers as you build your skills.

What will your typical day look like?

• Support the day-to-day operation of Microsoft Sentinel and Defender
• Triage and resolve BAU tickets related to log ingestion, connectors, and platform health
• Assist with onboarding new log sources and validating data
• Perform routine health checks and escalate complex issues when required
• Support SOC teams by helping maintain a stable and reliable platform
• Update documentation, runbooks, and simple process improvements
• Learn from and assist senior engineers with more complex engineering work

About the team

You'll be part of a small, collaborative engineering team that supports a large SOC and a wide range of clients, including government and enterprise organisations.

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Cyber Security, or a related field
• Interest in cyber security, cloud platforms, and security engineering
• Comfortable learning new tools and working in a technical environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Communicates clearly and works well in a team
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure or security tools (e.g. Sentinel, Defender)
• University projects, internships, or part-time work in IT or security
• Basic understanding of SIEM or SOC concepts
