Job Description - Midwifery Unit Manager - Women's and Children's Clinics , Queensland Health

About your opportunity

Fixed Term Temporary full-time / 3 months with possibility of extension not exceeding 12 months.

The purpose of the Midwifery Unit Manager (MUM) –Women & Children Clinics (W&CC) is to provide nursing and midwifery leadership to proactively manage and coordinate clinical practice and the provision of human, financial and material resources in accordance with organisational goals, ensuring a cost-effective midwifery and nursing service focused on providing exceptional, evidence-based patient care.

The position will facilitate and provide midwifery/nursing leadership, support, clinical supervision and mentoring within the midwifery/nursing team.

Generous remuneration package value up to $13,724 p.m. comprising:

  • Salary range of $5081.10 to $5516.60 p.f. (Nurse Grade 7)
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Midwifery/Diploma of Midwifery or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.
  • Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • Highly Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the position or working towards a relevant qualification.
  • Demonstrates clinical skills in intravenous cannulation, water immersion in labour and waterbirth, perineal suturing and speculum examination. If not competent in these skills must be willing to undertake the necessary training within six months of commencement.
  • Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
