We are committed to building teams that are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families, fostering an environment where our educators and staff can thrive and grow.

We are thrilled to be launching our first Australian campus in Melbourne in 2026, bringing high-fidelity Montessori education and exceptional service to the local community.

Role Overview:

Join us as a founding Montessori Guide and be at the heart of our inaugural Australian school. You will have the unique opportunity to shape a model Montessori classroom from the very beginning, working with a team passionate about delivering authentic, child-centred education. This role is perfect for a dedicated educator who wants to build a strong community and set the standard for Montessori excellence in Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Present sequential, individualised Montessori lessons in accordance with Guidepost’s high standards of fidelity.

  • Observe each child closely, document their progress and interests, and use your knowledge of Montessori principles to meet their individual needs.

  • Guide children with warmth, respect, and joy, fostering their innate desire for independence and learning.

  • Collaborate with and mentor Assistant Guides to maintain a high-quality classroom environment.

  • Welcome prospective families and fellow educators into your classroom for observations and tours.

Build Strong Partnerships with Families & Community:

  • Communicate regularly with parents in a personalised manner using our approved tools (e.g., photo-sharing software, newsletters).

  • Provide formal, cumulative feedback through twice-yearly parent-teacher conferences, progress reports, and student portfolios.

  • Meet with parents as needed to discuss their child's development and build strong, trusting relationships.

  • Participate in and help host community events, classroom celebrations, and parent education evenings.

Professional Collaboration & Growth:

  • Actively implement feedback from your Montessori Mentor and the Centre Director to refine your practice.

  • Participate in problem-solving challenging student situations with the support of your leadership team.

  • Engage in regular staff meetings, one-on-one meetings, and annual professional development.

  • Pursue ongoing learning to deepen your Montessori practice and pedagogical knowledge.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or equivalent, meeting the requirements for VIT (Victorian Institute of Teaching) registration as an Early Childhood Teacher.

  • Montessori Certification (AMI/AMS) is a must

  • Native or fluent English OR Mandarin Speaker

  • Experience working with children of the appropriate age group (0-6 years)

  • Passion for the Montessori method of education

  • Growth mindset and problem-solving approach
