MSK & Sports Physiotherapist

Job Description - MSK & Sports Physiotherapist

Description

MSK & Sports Physiotherapist

Macquarie Park, NSW | Private Practice | Clinic Based

This is a private practice role for a physiotherapist who enjoys working through the clinical problem rather than simply treating the symptoms.

The caseload is predominantly musculoskeletal and sports focused, with an emphasis on assessment, diagnosis and practical rehabilitation. The clinic operates as a multidisciplinary allied health practice, bringing together physiotherapy, chiropractic and exercise physiology within the one setting.

The practice also has a strong rehabilitation and performance focus, with access to technology and equipment including an AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill, force-plate assessment technology, Game Ready and Clinical Reformer Pilates. The team works collaboratively across disciplines when a patient's presentation calls for it.

The Role

  • Private practice, clinic-based position with no community work
  • Predominantly MSK and sports caseload
  • Work with patients across injury management, rehabilitation and return to activity
  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments and develop appropriate treatment and rehabilitation plans
  • Apply sound diagnostic and clinical reasoning skills to determine the likely source of a patient's presentation
  • Provide hands-on treatment alongside exercise-based rehabilitation where clinically appropriate
  • Work collaboratively with chiropractors and exercise physiologists within the multidisciplinary team
  • 3 days per week, with flexibility around which weekdays are worked
  • Every second Saturday, 4 hours
  • A 6-month trial period applies

What the Clinic Is Looking For

This role would suit a physiotherapist who is confident clinically and comfortable working independently within a private practice environment.

Key requirements include:

  • Physiotherapy degree and current AHPRA registration
  • Strong MSK assessment and diagnostic capabilities
  • Experience or a strong interest in sports physiotherapy and rehabilitation
  • Dry needling experience is highly regarded and considered important for the role
  • Good understanding of exercise-based rehabilitation and progressive loading
  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients and build rapport
  • A professional, approachable personality and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
  • Sound clinical judgement and the ability to explain your assessment and treatment rationale

The Clinical Environment

The practice takes a multidisciplinary approach, with physiotherapists, chiropractors and exercise physiologists working from the same clinic and collaborating around patient care. Its broader rehabilitation offering includes sports injury management, strength and conditioning, Clinical Reformer Pilates and technologies such as AlterG and force-plate assessment.

The physiotherapy team has a particular interest in sports-based injuries and works with patients ranging from active individuals through to competitive athletes. Dry needling is also used within the clinic as part of its broader hands-on treatment approach.

Remuneration

  • Paid at the applicable Physiotherapy Award rate
  • 6-month trial period
  • Multidisciplinary private practice environment
  • Clinic-based caseload with no community travel
