Dawson Mine

Steelmaking Coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.  

Dawson Mine, located near the town of Moura is only a 2 hour drive from Rockhampton and Gladstone. It is a large and dynamic open cut steelmaking coal mine operation made up of two operating pits - Central and South. It commenced operations in 1961 and is one of the oldest coal mining operations in Central Queensland with no signs of slowing down. Dawson Mine is rich in history, it was the first mine in Australia to export coal to Japan in 1961 and was the first mine to introduce draglines into its operation in 1963 – join the legacy today!

We are currently seeking Multi-Skilled Operators to assist our mining production teams at our Dawson Mine.

The successful applicants will be able to demonstrate a record of working safely and a commitment to safe working practices. You will be accountable for your actions and output and also display a willingness to learn new skills and to work to the best of your ability. Along with a commitment to working together as part of a team to achieve business objectives and the ability to work shift work.

To be successful in this role you will ensure compliance with all safety and operating systems and a commitment to working together as part of a team to achieve business objectives. You will need to possess relevant experience in large open cut mining operations. Dawson Mine is seeking candidates with experience in the below:

• Excavator
• Shovel
• Rear Dump
• Track Dozer
• Grader / Loader

• 7 on 7 off Day / Night Roster
• Residential and DIDO Options (FIFO Salary Sacrifice)
• Subsidised Housing or Camp accommodation available

Background checks
