The Role Based in the Commercial Office in Sydney CBD, this newly established position will manage a portfolio of entertainment, sports, and MICE accounts. The focus will be on fostering new business development and spearheading innovative strategies within these sectors for properties across Australia and New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities Include:- Actively seek out new business opportunities to increase account production for entertainment, sports, and MICE.
- Strengthen engagement with existing entertainment, sports, and MICE partners.
- Source, negotiate, and convert corporate and group contracts to achieve sales and revenue targets.
- Implement strategies to drive occupancy and maximise revenue.
- Work with the Director of Entertainment & Sports to develop and implement business plans and new strategies aimed at growing this niche market segment.
- Assist with the development of advertising collateral in collaboration with the Marketing Department.
- Maintain and increase allocated Entertainment & Sport accounts for all ANZ properties with a focus on need properties.
- Undertake telemarketing, sales, and marketing duties, public relations as required, and maintain an active database.
- Attend trade shows and industry functions as directed by the Director of Entertainment & Sport to ensure a high profile for each property.
Skills & Experience- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a sales/business development role within a hotel environment or a Travel Management Company (TMC) with a proven track record of success in increasing sales and fostering business growth
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to cultivate strong professional relationships and superior attention to detail and effective time management skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a professional demeanour, strong work ethic, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Flexibility to travel domestically when required
