Job Description - .NET Developer | Contract Role

Baseline (minimum) Required | Canberra / Brisbane / Melbourne ROLE OVERVIEWThe Developer designs, builds, tests, and maintains secure, high-quality software solutions that support critical digital identity platforms. The role spans backend (.NET, SQL) and modern frontend development (Angular) and takes responsibility across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, develop, and maintain backend web services using .NET technologies (C#, ASP.NET, WPF, WCF) within complex, multi-tier architectures
Build and maintain frontend applications using Angular and modern JavaScript frameworks
Apply enterprise architecture principles, standards, and reference models to ensure solution alignment
Promote and apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) practices
Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites (unit, integration, system, end-to-end) using tools such as Selenium, Appium, SpecFlow, Cucumber, and MSTest
Implement continuous automated testing using Microsoft tooling (e.g. TFS, Azure DevOps, MSTest)
Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements including security, performance, accessibility, and reliability
Participate in Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation, reviews, and retrospectives
Collaborate closely with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to refine user stories and acceptance criteria
Adhere to the Definition of Done, including testing, peer review, and documentation

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS
- Strong experience in .NET development (C#, ASP.NET) and SQL
- Experience developing frontend solutions using Angular or equivalent frameworks
- Demonstrated delivery within SAFe or Agile environments
- Australian citizenship
- Baseline security clearance (or eligibility to obtain prior to commencement)
