Network Engineer

Your Role as our Network Engineer

In this role you will focus on delivering highly available network infrastructure to sustain the online and on-site information activities of the organisation.

Key responsibilities of the position include:

• Installing, configuring and documenting ICT infrastructure to organisational standards and industry best practices.

• Ensuring all systems comply with security policies, ISMS, and regulatory/legal requirements.

• Monitoring network performance, troubleshoot issues, and proactively minimise disruptions.

• Managing infrastructure updates, changes, and incidents following ITIL and Change Management (CAB) processes.

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation, including designs and system changes.

• Collaborating with stakeholders, vendors, and service providers to support operations and deliver projects.

• Providing ongoing support, including issue escalation, reporting, and participation in an on-call roster.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 6+ years of experience in IP networks as a senior network administrator.

• Ability to analyse and resolve problems efficiently, in a timely manner and collaboratively in multiple diverse environments.

• Strong client management and engagement experience/

• Security, Firewall policy design, implementation, upgrades and migrations of Sophos products, Sophos UTM centralised management.

• Converged core network infrastructure and ISP High availability network design.

Essential Requirements

• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)

• Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.

• Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel for work
