Network Engineer

We have partnered with a local Systems Integrator to discover their next Network Engineer to join their dynamic team based here in Perth.

The need has been driven through winning a number of key contracts and a strong pipeline of work. Their mission is to empower businesses through advance operational technology digitalization, industrial automation and workforce development solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure network solutions for a diverse clientele.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Designing and configuring Layer 2 and Layer 3 networks to meet client specifications.
• Implementing and managing routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP) to optimize network performance and reliability.
• Developing WAN and LAN network designs tailored to unique client requirements.
• Conducting FAT, SAT testing, and configurations aligned with client standards and guidelines.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting network performance to ensure optimal operation.
• Configuring, deploying, and commissioning network architectures both remotely and on-site for seamless integration.
• Designing and implementing ad-hoc networking solutions to address specific client needs or challenges.
• Developing comprehensive network and processes documentation.
• Collaborating closely with stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable network designs that align with project objectives.

Key Requirements:

• Australian Permanent Residency status required.
• Valid Australian driver’s license.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field.
• Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP/CCIE preferred.
• Broad technical knowledge and proficiency in generating high-quality documentation.
• Experience with switching and routing technologies from various vendors.

Bonus points for:

• Understanding of cybersecurity standards, risks, mitigations, and practical applications.
• Experience in power/energy or mining processes and implementations is a plus.
• Familiarity with SCADA protocols (Modbus, DNP3, TCP/IP, Ethernet, IP protocols).
• Exposure to Microwave and LTE network communication technologies, particularly in industrial environments (advantageous).

• Perth-based position with travel to client sites across Western Australia as needed.
