Dual Registered Midwife – Multiple Locations | Darling Downs Health

Up to $70.64/hr (Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife) + super + allowances | Up to $76.94/hr (Clinical Midwife) + super + allowances | Travel & accommodation fully covered | Minimum 4-week contracts with potential extensions

About the Role

Provide high-quality, woman-centred maternity care across a range of hospital settings within Darling Downs Health. You will be responsible for delivering safe, evidence-based care to women and their families throughout pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postnatal period while working collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care


• Provide support and monitoring during labour and birth


• Assess and monitor maternal and neonatal wellbeing


• Recognise and respond to clinical deterioration and obstetric emergencies


• Administer medications and implement care plans within scope of practice


• Collaborate with obstetricians, paediatricians, medical officers, and multidisciplinary teams


• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation


• Support breastfeeding education and postnatal care


• Promote safe, evidence-based maternity and newborn care


• Contribute to women's health services and broader rural healthcare delivery where required

What You'll Need

• Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife


• Minimum 1 year recent midwifery experience


• Experience across antenatal, birth suite, and postnatal services highly desirable


• Neonatal resuscitation and fetal surveillance competencies desirable


• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary maternity teams


• Australian working rights (non-sponsorship position due to contract timeframe)
