About the role:

• Provide high-level policy and strategic advice to senior executives and key stakeholders.


• Oversee complex research, policy development and the preparation of submissions on significant reform issues.


• Manage key policy projects and contribute to the strategic direction of the department.


• Build and maintain strong relationships with practitioners, government bodies and other external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate:

• An experienced lawyer with a strong background in commercial law & policy


• Demonstrated people management experience is essential, with the ability to lead, mentor and develop a team of lawyers.


• Strong legal research, analytical and drafting skills, with the ability to advise on complex legal and policy matters.


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.


• A proactive and collaborative leader who can manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
