Overview

A senior technical architect role on a large enterprise HR transformation. The organisation is moving onto Oracle HCM Cloud, alongside a new payroll platform, and needs someone to own the end-to-end solution design.

The emphasis is technical. The design has to work across Core HR and the wider HCM modules, and just as importantly across the integrations, data flows and downstream systems around them.

You will work with the business, the implementation partners and the integration, security, reporting and data migration teams, and stay with the solution through testing, cutover and go-live.

The Role You Could Play

• Solution Design: Design end-to-end Oracle HCM solutions that are scalable, compliant and aligned to the enterprise architecture.


• Integrations: Shape how Oracle HCM connects to payroll, workforce management and downstream systems, and make sure it holds up in production.


• Impact Assessment: Work through the knock-on effects of design decisions across HR, payroll, workforce management and beyond.


• Design Governance: Take designs through solution reviews and architecture approvals with minimal rework.


• Oracle Roadmap: Advise on best practice, quarterly release features and where the roadmap can reduce customisation.


• Delivery: Contribute to testing, defect resolution, cutover planning and go-live readiness.

What You Will Bring

Oracle HCM Depth

• Seven or more years delivering Oracle HCM Cloud solutions.


• Strong Core HR, plus at least one of Talent, Learning, Recruiting, Compensation or Workforce Management.

Technical Background

• Hands-on experience with integrations, security, reporting and data migration in Oracle HCM environments.


• A track record of designing end-to-end solutions and seeing them through implementation yourself.

Delivery and Approach

• Experience on large-scale HR transformation programmes, in agile and waterfall settings.


• Strong stakeholder management, workshop facilitation and problem solving.

What This Role Is Not

Stated directly, because it saves time on both sides.

• Not a functional or module-led consultant role. Functional profiles have not been the right fit.


• Not a design-only seat. The architect is expected to have built integrations and delivered implementations first hand.


• Not a project or delivery management role.

The brief is purely technical. The customer wants an architect who has designed end-to-end solutions and also done the integration and implementation work, not a functional lead with a module specialism.

Experience of Oracle HCM working alongside a separate payroll engine, and the integration between the two, is likely to be the strongest differentiator.
