As the business continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper / Bookkeeping Trainer to join their Nerang office and play a key role in training, supervising, and supporting both new and existing bookkeeping professionals.

Overview of the Role

This position is ideal for an experienced bookkeeping professional who enjoys leadership, mentoring, and systems-driven financial management.

In this role, you will be responsible for supervising, training, and supporting bookkeepers while ensuring consistent service standards across the business. You will use your technical bookkeeping expertise to guide team members, support franchise owners, and contribute to ongoing operational excellence.

This role combines hands-on bookkeeping knowledge with people support, making it well suited to someone who is both technically capable and team-focused.

Key Responsibilities

• Training and supervising new and existing bookkeepers


• Providing software training and operational support


• Preparing and reviewing Business Activity Statements (BAS)


• Managing payroll reconciliations


• Completing BAS reconciliations


• Preparing Taxable Payment Annual Reports (TPAR)


• Assisting with preparation of Income Statements


• Supporting end-of-financial-year processes


• Supporting franchise owners with bookkeeping guidance and problem-solving


• Maintaining strong internal systems and workflow processes


• Ensuring accuracy, compliance, and consistency across bookkeeping operations

About the Ideal Candidate

You are an experienced bookkeeping professional with strong technical knowledge, leadership capability, and excellent communication skills. You are systems-oriented, proactive, and confident supporting others while maintaining high-quality financial processes.

You are patient, supportive, and capable of mentoring team members while contributing to a positive and collaborative office culture.

Essential Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

• Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience


• Strong MYOB knowledge


• Proven problem-solving capability


• Clear, concise written communication skills


• High attention to detail


• Strong organisational and time management skills


• Ability to work autonomously


• Professional commitment and reliability

• Experience supporting, mentoring, or training others


• Ability to support and encourage franchise owners

• Experience with Xero, QuickBooks, Dext, Deputy, KeyPay, or similar systems

• Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience highly regarded
