We are seeking a like-minded, detail orientated individual to join our team as our Night Manager who can lead by example, train, motivate and mentor our wonderful team whilst managing our Hotel's nightly operations.
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that all of our guests arrive, stay, and leave feeling welcomed, valued, and delighted with our service.
Furthermore, you will be responsible for the management of all aspects of our Hotel nightly operations including customer relations, budgeting, staff training, rostering, financial management and the ability to work within and manage multiple Hotel departments as required.
The role will include but not limited to:
- Overseeing hotel finances and accounting operations. Ensuring the end of day balancing procedures are followed, and that auditing procedures are met. Performing daily reconciliation, handling transactions and documenting purchases where required.
- Producing daily reports to the upper management as required. Performing weekly analysis and conducting financial management reports and budgetary reporting for upper management.
- Verifying and checking on charges posted to different departments, ensuring that transactions are correctly posted in corresponding accounts with evidence documents.
- Directing and managing multi-department operations, including front desk, food and beverage and housekeeping teams.
- Ensuring that guests’ enquiries are replied, concerns are addressed, complaints and conflicts are resolved, whilst exercising the highest professional standards throughout the process.
- Managing staffing levels and rosters, ensuring that there are always sufficient staff to support one another, and to maintain the service quality for the guests.
- Frequently checking and communicating with different local government authorities, to understand transport arrangements, new statutory regulations and updates on the suburb.
- Assessing and monitoring customers’ satisfaction on hotel services, restaurant services and all other relevant services. Addressing criticisms and feedbacks, and carrying out mitigation strategies where possible.
- Liaising with surrounding local community to provide hotel guests and their associates of local tourism information. Providing accurate information regarding both the hotel and the Canberra region. Assisting in reservations if required.
- Running end of the day computer functions, including property management software, ensuring that all information is properly and accurately documented.
- Performing routine checks on room conditions, hotel interior and exterior conditions, advising other management teams where refurbishment is required.
- Ensuring all compliance aspects of the hotel’s liquor license are being met, including but not limited to staff RSA compliance, and the duty of care of guests and staff through the service of the Mini Bar.
- Upsell other hotel services and amenities to guests.
- Maintaining open interdepartmental communication between all departments, including security, housekeeping, food and beverage, reservations and maintenance to ensure that guest service standards are maintained.
- Frequently communicating and assisting other internal Departments as required.
Skills and experience:
To be a successful candidate, we require you to have the following:
- More than 2 years of work experience in Hotel Manager role
- Communication skills
- Leadership skills
- Budget management experience
- Strong customer service skills
- Availability to work a rotating roster
- Detail oriented
- Staff training experience
