Job Description - NILS Client Support Officer

Your Role

We’re looking for a compassionate and community-minded NILS Client Support Officer to help deliver the Vinnies No Interest Loans (NILS) program within Newcastle and across NSW. In this role, you’ll support people experiencing financial hardship by providing access to safe and affordable lending options, while working closely with clients, volunteers and community partners to strengthen local support networks. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people, building relationships and being part of a values-driven organisation committed to social justice and community impact. This is a Part Time Max-term contract role working 28 hours per week. 


 

Your Responsibility


  • Support clients through the Vinnies NILS loan process from enquiry to application

  • Build strong relationships with community organisations and referral partners

  • Help grow and promote the NILS program across local communities

  • Support and engage volunteers involved in the program

  • Maintain accurate records and work collaboratively with internal teams and stakeholders

  • Contribute to a positive, supportive and community-focused team culture

You Will Need


You’re someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and building strong community connections. You’re organised, adaptable and confident working with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.




 


You’ll also bring:




  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience in client support, community services or administration

  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

  • High attention to detail and strong record-keeping skills

  • Confidence using digital systems and technology

  • A collaborative and team-focused approach

  • A commitment to confidentiality, professionalism and person-centred service delivery



Experience working with volunteers, community programs or financial wellbeing services will be highly regarded.
