Clinical Nurse Consultant- Apheresis, Cellular Therapies and Quality

About the role
The Clinical Nurse Consultant – Apheresis, Cellular Therapies and Quality is to be accountable for the provision of evidence based clinical nursing care of Haematology/Oncology patients in apheresis and the level 1 cellular therapy infusion centre. The function of this role is also to act as an expert clinical resource for precinct staff and external clients, and provide visible clinical leadership across the Parkville precinct and partnering organisations. The role will lead, support and ensure evidence based nursing care that meets professional, organisation, legal and ethical standards in order to optimise health outcomes for patients and their families.
This role is responsible for the coordination and maintenance of the quality activities to comply with the quality objectives and regulatory licensing requirements within the apheresis unit and related departments. Accreditation is currently held for TGA and NATA, and will be extended to FACT in the future. The purpose of this position is to provide clinical leadership capabilities that demonstrates the relationship between safe patient care within a regulatory environment of Apheresis and aligned departments.
The position will hold an education and project portfolio that will be developed with the apheresis leadership team and is in accordance with the haematology and apheresis service delivery plan.
