  • Southern Adelaide Local Health Network – Repat Health Precinct - Division of Rehabilitation, Aged Care and Palliative Care
  • Salary $121,537 - $126,970 p.a. (pro rata) RN3 | Full-Time, Ongoing
  • We are looking for a Nurse Consultant to join the new CARE Ability service at the Repat Health Precinct!

    About the Role:

    The speciality portfolio for this role will be providing leadership in the stream “ CARE Ability” for patients with an intellectual and/or developmental disability. This role will work within a multidisciplinary team.

    The CARE Ability Service is a stream of the Complex And RestorativE (CARE) Service, located at the REPAT Health Precinct. This service is designed to facilitate alternate specialist-led patient treatment pathways with the aim of achieving timely discharge, embedding the home-first principle of care, minimising demand, and improving patient experiences. This program will encompass:

  • provision of non-emergency, complex and restorative care to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disability, whose needs can be met within a non-acute care environment in the CARE Centre at the Repat Health Precinct
  • patient-centred, tailored, rehabilitation-led care for people with intellectual / developmental disability for whom an Emergency Department (ED) environment can be distressing through the Eyes on Scene (EOS) team who visit CARE Consumers in their own home.
  • About you:  

  • Registered as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds a current practicing certificate. 
  • At least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.
  • Demonstrated competence in the care of patients with an intellectual and/or developmental disability and/or Rehabilitation nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards.
  • Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
