About the Role

Join our team as a Nurse Manager on a full time ongoing to work at Special Care Nursery based at Sandringham Hospital. The Nurse Manager position is a clinical and operational leadership role responsible for clinical and operational outcomes and management of staff.  Reporting to the Director of Clinical Operations, the Nurse Manager works collaboratively with a fantastic group of people who are inclusive and passionate and who share a vision to provide excellent care for patients and families. The Nursing leadership is pivotal within Monash Newborn to ensure the delivery of safe and quality patient care and the pursuit of excellence in patient and family centred care, research and education. The role requirements include: 

  • Management of nursing resource to the unit to maintain High standards of Nursing Care  

  • Role modelling and staff engagement through ongoing communication within the team 

  • Monitoring and managing unit budgets and target activity maintaining financial responsibility and accountability 

  • Workforce management and strategy 

  • Discharge coordination  

Operating a Family Centred Care Model within our unit and aim to provide high quality care to our babies and their families. We focus on care plans, discharge planning and education to enable safe and early discharge to reunite the family unit. 

About Us 

Sandringham Special Care Nursery is a  8 bed Level 3 nursery, providing care for mildly/ moderately unwell newborns born at greater than or equal to 34 weeks gestation or newborns with a birthweight greater than or equal to 2,000 grams. On average 200 babies are admitted each year. We aim to provide high quality, family integrated care to our babies and families. Together with the families we focus on care plans, discharge planning and education to enable safe and early discharge to reunite the family unit.  

We are now looking for a highly motivated nursing professional to join us in a leadership role.  This is an ongoing full time position with the requirement of both clinical and management hours
