Job Description - Nurse Practitioner - Renal, Queensland Health

Permanent full-time

This is an advanced and extended level of Nursing Practice within Renal Services at The Townsville University Hospital and Renal Satellite Sites at the North Ward Health Campus. This will include services generally not included in a Registered Nurses' role including prescribing medications, specialist referrals, clinics, pathology, medical imaging, and education.

This role will require travel between the satellite and main units as well as the potential to travel to provide outreach support for all self-caring patients in both THHS and NWHHS. Self-care haemodialysis sites currently exist in Doomadgee and Mornington Island.

Generous remuneration package value up to $178,322 p.a. comprising:

  • Salary range of $5721.10 to $5973.00 p.f. (Nurse Grade 8)
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

    Requirements

  • Master of Nursing Science (Nurse Practitioner) or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • A Nurse Practitioner will be required to complete THHS credentialing at commencement of their role, it is then a requirement to be completed 3 yearly.
  • Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
